Building on our decades-long research-practice partnership with the City of Boston that has demonstrated the impact of Summer Youth Employment Programs (SYEPs) on reducing violent crime, increasing high school graduation, and boosting employment and wages, C2C launched our own Summer Learn and Earn Program (SYEP) in 2023.
Bringing over 200 low-income high-school aged students on campus across Northeastern University’s Boston and Oakland campus locations each summer, youth work in a variety of positions while preparing for college. C2C staff work to connect Learn and Earn participants to existing Northeastern pathways that are designed to increase access to the university for marginalized students, such as the Oakland Opportunity Scholarships and Boston Foundation Year Program.
